Your Vote Does Count

Date: 20 October, 2004

Imageind of. But only if some jerkwater lawyer says it does.

Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) has amassed a series of 'SWAT' teams. Six of them to be exact. According to the Associated Press (AP) story (10/20/04):

"Six so-called "SWAT teams" of lawyers and political operatives will be situated around the country with fueled-up jets awaiting Kerry's orders to speed to a battleground state. The teams have been told to be ready to fly on the evening of the election to begin mounting legal and political fights. Every battleground state will have a SWAT team within an hour of its borders."

Well excuse the hell out of me. But just when did lawyers and political operatives who work for a candidate and, as such, have a personal and financial interest in the outcome of an election, have the power to destroy an election. The outcome of an election is, according to Kerry, not dependent upon the voters of this country and, more importantly, the electoral college but which team has the best lawyers. The entire concept is complete insanity and utter corruption of our Constitutional process. If you can not win an election legitimately then go cry to a court. What a bunch of spoiled brats.

Additionally, according to the (AP) story:

" 'Right now, we have 10,000 lawyers out in the battleground states on Election Day, and that number is growing by the day,' said Michael Whouley, a Kerry confidant who is running election operations at the Democratic National Committee."

Good grief. What kind of hogwash is this anyway? The whole idea of elections is that the individual voter decides who he or she thinks will do the best job for them. Not some scumbag lawyer.

But wait folks there is more (from AP):

"While the lawyers litigate, political operatives will try to shape public perception. Their goal would be to persuade voters that Kerry has the best claim to the presidency and that Republicans are trying to steal it.

"Democrats are already laying the public relations groundwork by pointing to every possible voting irregularity before the Nov. 2 election and accusing Republicans of wrongdoing."

Now I will be the first one to tell you that I have absolutely no use whatsoever for either Kerry or Bush. They are both vermin as far as I am concerned and neither Bush nor Kerry has earned the privilege of being president. But this crap that the Democratic party is attempting to pull is just beyond the pale. While the Republican party may be doing the same sort of thing however, it is the Democratic party, indeed the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and John Kerry that have been caught with their pants down.

I do believe that attempting to exert undo influence on an election is in violation of federal election laws. I could be wrong about that, but somehow I do not believe I am. We will just have to wait and see. Damn, wouldn't it cool if I was correct and we could nail these scum sucking dogs? Yeah, I think so.

The big question is what does this tell you about the Democratic party and the DNC? More specifically, what does this tell you about John Kerry? It tells me that according to Kerry and the DNC it is okay to:

Do anything to win. Or, win at all costs. Scurvy dogs.

The cost, by the way, is immense and not just in dollars. Prior to the 2000 election the United States was looked up to by most countries of the world in the respect of our election system and our Constitution. Since the 2000 election the exact opposite is true. Indeed, it is expected that there maybe monitors overseeing our 2004 general election. According to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) news report:

"For the first time, representatives from the OSCE - the European body which has traditionally monitored elections in fledgling democracies - will observe as Americans elect their president.

. . .

"[T]he Florida fiasco of 2000 with its hanging chads and voter purges has shaken confidence in the sanctity of the system, producing in the words of one observer, a climate of 'unease, distrust and skepticism'."

Those two quoted paragraphs say a lot about our country. Unease, distrust and skepticism are prize understatements. Of that there can be no doubt. This country which used to be the beacon of freedom and 'right' has now become the country of ridicule and scorn. All courtesy of our two major political parties, along with a healthy dose of apathy from our own citizens, the ridicule and scorn is deserved. Absolutely shameful.

But what can we mere citizens do about such a failing? The answer is simple. Come this election day do not vote for any Democratic candidate or any Republican candidate. Vote for a third party candidate. Should a voter rebellion actually take place this coming November, the results will shake the world and, to no small degree, destroy both the Democratic party and the Republican party. A destruction which is long overdue.

The point though is this — no matter who 'wins' the election in November both major political parties are overtly attempting to steal the election from the people who matter the most — the voter.

If Kerry and his 'SWAT' teams of lawyers and political operatives want to pick a fight with the voters of this country and try to steal our votes or if Bush and company desire to do the same, I say bring it on you rotten sons-a-bitches. Because once the smoke clears and the dust settles the Democratic and Republican parties will be put in their rightful place:

The political graveyard.
